I continue to be really convinced that good porn matters, what when people crusade against the effects of pornography what they're really talking about is the glut of cheap disposable sexist porn where the primary aesthetics are shock value and dominance/debasement. Which, no surprise, primes people to expect really crappy sex.
Funny you should mention; I've more or less convinced myself that I should write a Post titled "In Praise of Pornography" because nobody else seems to be willing to bite the bullet and this is necessary – and I'm not even joking – to save the world. I don't actually want to write this thing, and am having trouble mustering the requisite enthusiasm for the project.
(Out of curiosity and tangential to the conversation, do you have any resources about talking to young men as a therapist, "Hey that porn you've been mainlining may not have served you well"?)
