Because I forgot last week, I found a responsive mobile-friendly theme for DW. I keep meaning to tweak my colors, but I like reading on my phone more than I like having a color-scheme that is tasteful and on-brand, and it turns out I'm very bad at translating online palettes to my DW settings. So monochrome it is, at least for the moment.

I have been having all manner of exciting conversations about f/f and femslash lately, notably at merelydovely' interrogating one's preferences: the femslash gap and a fascinating exchange in staranise's comments section on the use of language to describe sex in Latin. I've also been chattering away on a repost of an older piece of mine, in which I am greedy. I need to find time to crosspost that to fem_thoughts and/or girlgay, but I am currently overwhelmed with end-of-semester work shit + manuscript, so it may be some time before I manage to tackle these.

wellthisisnice's recent rec lists are well worth checking out. Lots of really neat-sounding podcasts on fandom, queer history, and plenty more!

WE HAVE A NATIONAL MOLE QUEEN. Surprisingly bloody and very weird, as is usual for naked mole rats. This came up on MeFi and I immediately spent some time rolling around in glee.

nerdflighter needs advice on structuring a website for refugees. Expertise on building communities for survivors of violence of any kind would be very welcome.

I found these incredibly science awesome t-shirts and am now drooling. I do need more work shirts...

I'd like to inform everyone interested that i've been working on my Best of 2018 Fic Rec. It's... so long... and i really shouldn't be spending my time on it right now...

Also, my main issue with DW themes (responsive or not) is that i'm fussy about line-height :/ That's the no. 1 reason why i choose my current one.

To each their own, I always say! I am mostly linking because over on the Fourth Legion (where I've been encouraging a few people to try Dreamwidth), the mobile unfriendliness of Dreamwidth was very much a sticking point, and adding these tweaks/themes to my own blog was extremely useful when it came to looking at my blog on my phone--as I have been doing a whole bunch of lately, especially after stepping mostly off Tumblr this week.

Thank you for the recs! I, er, time limits, but they look really fascinating, and I do like podcasts.

Podcasts have been a great way to make me clean the house and go grocery shopping :D And i much prefer learning stuff via podcasts and videos than by reading (even if i don't understand everything, because secong language).

Also also, the conversations on f/f and femslash have been so good <3 Keep up with the good work!

I can second the rec for "One From The Vaults", of which I am a big fan! Morgan M. Page has a great story-telling style, is excellent with nuance (e.g. when it comes to people whose conceptions of their own gender identities might not fit neatly into current categories), and tells fascinating stories about fascinating people.
